From the heart of the neighborhood around Venice Blvd and Grand View, where the farmers market takes over on Sundays, it's about two miles: Venice Blvd east to Sepulveda, then north two signals to National. Ten minutes in ordinary traffic, a bit more when Venice Blvd is doing its weekday crawl. From the northern streets near Palms Blvd the trip is shorter still, and from the hill streets south of Venice you're looking at twelve minutes, most of it on surface roads.
No freeway is involved from Mar Vista unless you want one, which regular Westside drivers will recognize as the fastest sentence on this page.

Even for a knocked-out tooth, the tightest deadline in dentistry, ten minutes leaves most of the viability window intact if you store the tooth in milk and leave promptly. The exceptions are airway and trauma situations, which belong at an ER regardless of dental office distance.
Do Mar Vista patients need to be existing patients for same-day care?
No. Emergency care means most people are new to us, and the process assumes it: bring ID and an insurance card if you have one, arrive a few minutes early for the paperwork, and the exam starts on your held time.
